With the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, Congress created the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have developed an elaw Advisor to address the federal requirements to report and record work-related injuries and illnesses.
OSHA has issued two new educational resources to help protect workers from mercury exposure. Fluorescent bulbs can release mercury and may expose workers when they are broken accidentally or crushed as part of the routine disposal or recycling process. http://www.osha.gov/Publications/osha3536.pdf
